people. My name is Michael, and this is my story of recovery with SUBLOCADE®.

Cut to overhead shot of Michael opening his book and flipping to the page about
his childhood.
On-screen
text:
Michael was paid by Indivior to share his experience with SUBLOCADE.
[SPEECH]
I grew up in a very small town. Very rural. Very early on it was clear that I
struggled with attention stuff, like ADHD.
[DESCRIPTION]
Zoom into the image of Michael's childhood home.
[SPEECH]
And yeah, I was convinced that there was just something deeply wrong with me.
[DESCRIPTION]
Cut to diner scene. An overhead shot of a coffee cup at a diner booth.

I don’t have willpower
[SPEECH]
That was my internal monologue, was that I just don’t—I don't have willpower.
[DESCRIPTION]
A birds-eye view of New York City buildings.
[SPEECH]
Years later, I was living with some friends in the city in some Upper East Side
apartment.
[DESCRIPTION]
A scene depicting Michael's New York City apartment.
[SPEECH]
And they had a weed dealer. I asked the guy, ‘Hey, do you sell anything other
than weed?’ And yeah, he sold, um, you know, oxycodone.

Sundays were oxycodone days
[SPEECH]
I wasn't a full-blown addict right away, but I also wasn't like taking 2 just
to take a load off and then didn't think about it for another 2 weeks. It was
suddenly my Sundays were oxycodone days.
[DESCRIPTION]
Michael flips the page in his book to the scene of his active addiction. Zoom
in on the dark cityscape in Michael’s book and the illustration of him texting
with “please stop” scribbled multiple times on the page.
[SPEECH]
It got to a point where it felt like I split into 2 people in some ways. As I
was texting my dealer, I was saying out loud to myself, ‘Don't do this. Please
stop. Don't do this,’ but it was truly like there was another person in me.
[DESCRIPTION]
A first-person point of view of a gurney being wheeled into a hospital entrance
and down hallway begins, then cuts to Michael speaking from a diner booth, then
back to the gurney scene.
[SPEECH]
I had overdosed, and I had been lying on my leg, cutting off circulation to it.
I was in really excruciating nerve pain. And I was hospitalized.
[DESCRIPTION]
The gurney scene cuts to an overhead view of a snowy suburban neighborhood,
then cuts back to Michael speaking from a diner booth, then back to him turning
the page in his book.

My family had to give me opioids for pain
[SPEECH]
Then, eventually, it was time for me to go home to my family. My poor
shell-shocked, terrified, family has to give me opioids for the pain.
[DESCRIPTION]
Michael reads from a spread in his book which then zooms in on various elements
of the page.
[SPEECH]
I went into their room, found the key, and started immediately stealing my
prescription. I took all of the fentanyl that was left. They took me to the
emergency room and I started OD’ing again.

I started daily oral therapy
[SPEECH]
I was there overnight, and then I went to detox. While I was there, I was given
a daily medication I was told would—would help. And I at that point, I was
ready to do anything.

[SPEECH]
I had a conversation with somebody talking about my experience with the daily
medication, and he was telling me about SUBLOCADE.

Once a month
SUBLOCADE is administered by your provider once monthly.
[SPEECH]
This idea of having something that I could just go do once, not think about,
seemed really exciting.
[DESCRIPTION]
Michael pours oil into a pan on a stovetop and adds chopped onions to it.
[SPEECH]
My experience with the daily medication, I had ups and downs. You still have to
take something on a daily basis.
[DESCRIPTION]
Michael stirs sizzling chopped onions in a pan over a stovetop.
[SPEECH]
That experience reminded me of other times in my life where I've been dependent
on stuff.

Opioids hijack your brain
[SPEECH]
We watched an informational video about how drugs, especially opioids, hijack
your brain's dopamine system and yeah, it really made me appreciate a little
bit how this was not a willpower thing for me.

Starting on SUBLOCADE
The most common side effects of SUBLOCADE® include: constipation, headache, nausea, injection site itching, vomiting, increase in liver enzymes, tiredness, and injection site pain.
[SPEECH]
The psychiatrist that I had there, we decided that I was going to do it. The
first shot, like I was expecting it, so it actually wasn't too bad.
[DESCRIPTION]

text:
The most important thing is I don’t really think about it
[SPEECH]
The most important thing about SUBLOCADE, for me, is that I don't actually
think about it most of the time, which sounds like a small thing, but it is a
really important thing.
[DESCRIPTION]

Continuous medication that lasts all month
Blocks the rewarding effects of opioids*
*Blocked rewarding effects of an opioid in a 12-week study of 39 non-treatment-seeking adults.
[SPEECH]
I receive continuous medication throughout the month. SUBLOCADE blocks the
rewarding effects of opioids. I knew I wouldn't feel the same effects if I use
now.
[DESCRIPTION]
Overhead view of Michael grabbing a cup of coffee and lifting it. Cut to a side
view of him taking a sip of coffee and looking toward the window.
[SPEECH]
I got a great therapist. Of course, continue to do, you know, recovery
meetings, which are still a really important part of my life. Found a couple of
really wonderful people who are really thoughtful, and see me as a human being.

Focus on how I can get better
[SPEECH]
As a person in recovery, there’s a lot of time that you spend stuck obsessing
about drugs. Because of SUBLOCADE, I can focus on how I can get better.

It’s not a willpower battle anymore
[SPEECH]
It's not a willpower battle anymore. All of these tools that I've started to
learn, like, present themselves one after another.
[DESCRIPTION]
Cut to Michael's book, where we see his story progress into his recovery.
[SPEECH]
Like, the way I feel about myself has honestly completely changed.
[DESCRIPTION]
Michael looking at the last spread of his book.
[SPEECH]
There's this expression that people say in recovery, ‘I hope you have a slow
recovery.’ SUBLOCADE has been a big part of that. The point is, I want to keep
learning my whole life and growing. It's gradual and that's okay.
[DESCRIPTION]
Overhead shot of Michael closing his book. Cut to on-screen text on blue
