My name is Jamie, and this is my story of recovery with SUBLOCADE.

[SPEECH]
I was afraid to tell a doctor or anybody that I had this problem…

[DESCRIPTION]
Overhead view of Pine Street corner. Jamie walks through carrying umbrella. Cut to zoom-in of Pine Street sign that morphs on screen into PINE illustration in book.

[SPEECH]
…Because I had already created this perfect, wholesome picture of myself.

[DESCRIPTION]
Overhead view of Jamie opening her book and flipping through to an illustrated page.

[SPEECH]
My life before opioids was pretty fantastic, actually.

[DESCRIPTION]
Zoom in on illustrated house and other elements from the book spread.

[SPEECH]
I had a good job. I had some really good friends. I would go out. I was living life like a normal early 20s girl in New Orleans.

[DESCRIPTION]
A busy New Orleans street with people walking through. Cut to a facade of New Orleans homes.

[SPEECH]
Before I used opioids, I knew how terrible they were and I knew how easily somebody could become addicted.

[DESCRIPTION]

On-screen text:
Won’t happen to me

[SPEECH]
I just didn’t think that it could happen to me.

[DESCRIPTION]

On-screen text:
Everything changed

[SPEECH]
I remember vividly the first time I ever took a pain pill. I can see it now. A friend of mine gave me a couple of blue pills. I had them in my pocket, and I pulled one out, and I remember taking it, and everything changed.

On-screen text:
I couldn’t stop

[SPEECH]
I would tell myself, “This isn't going to be forever” or “I could stop if I wanted to.” Of course, I knew I couldn't stop if I wanted to. As soon as they have control over you, it's too late. As soon as you take that first one, it's too late.

[DESCRIPTION]
Jamie flips the pages in her book to a somber scene of an illustrated version of herself sitting on her couch at home while life goes on behind her. Cut to her sitting on the couch during her interview.

[SPEECH]
I liked to be at home alone, sitting on my sofa, relaxing. Which is not like me at all to want to do anything by myself.

[DESCRIPTION]
A lit chandelier hangs from a peeling ceiling and a blue shimmering light flashes behind it.

On-screen text:
I tried everything to stop

[SPEECH]
When I knew I wanted to stop, I tried, of course, cold turkey. I tried to wean myself off. I probably tried everything possible to stop.

[DESCRIPTION]
Zoom in on Jamie’s book page to an illustration of her texting on a phone.

[SPEECH]
A friend of mine had mentioned she was going to rehab. So, I told her I was interested.

[DESCRIPTION]
Zoom in on various illustrated elements in Jamie’s book spread, showing her texting someone on her phone.

[SPEECH]
The admissions person at the outpatient program had contacted me. They see what you've been taking of course, and put you on medication almost immediately.

[DESCRIPTION]

[SPEECH]
Within I guess six months, they want to start weaning you off. I hadn’t even scratched the surface of my recovery.

[DESCRIPTION]

Everybody has their own timeline

[SPEECH]
That I think happened a couple of times until I found the right person for me. She understood that everybody has their own timeline.

This video reflects Jamie’s experience when SUBLOCADE was part of her treatment plan. Jamie is no longer receiving treatment with SUBLOCADE and, at the time of filming, was not taking SUBLOCADE.

[SPEECH]
My psychiatrist explained what SUBLOCADE would do, and the difference between starting that versus the daily, and the benefits for me first changing. Which was, of course, not having to take something every day.

On-screen text:
Taking a daily medication limits me

[SPEECH]
Taking a daily medication limits me because I have to worry about when I'm going to have to take my next dose of medicine, or somebody seeing my medicine, or the daily ups and downs that you feel.

[DESCRIPTION]

I was confident I was turning a corner

Individual results may vary.

[SPEECH]
The first day after my first injection, I was nervous, because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. And, I remember walking out of the doctor's office and it was very bright and lovely, and I was confident, I wasn't certain, but I was confident that it was a corner, I was turning a corner.

Continuous medication that lasts all month

[SPEECH]
With daily medication, I'm thinking about when my next dose comes. I don't have to work around my medication and my next dose. I know SUBLOCADE continuously releases medication all month.

[DESCRIPTION]

On-screen text:
SUBLOCADE was one piece of my recovery

[SPEECH]
It's not just the medication. You need the meetings, you need a psychiatrist, you need a therapist, you need friends in the program. SUBLOCADE was one piece of recovery, but it’s not the whole picture.

[DESCRIPTION]
Close-up of paints and Jamie drawing on paper. Cut to a zoomed-out view of Jamie at a desk continuing to work on art.

[SPEECH]
When you realize that you can get better and you can recover or be in that constant state of recovery, you want the next step.

Helping rebalance my brain

[SPEECH]
I know the role of medication is helping me rebalance my brain so I can focus on counseling...creating healthier habits.

[DESCRIPTION]

[SPEECH]
Stigma plays a huge part in getting help, or preventing me or anybody from getting help. I think if the stigma was taken away, we could look at it like any other issue where until you recognize that we're all different, we're not going to be equal.

[DESCRIPTION]
Jamie dipping her paintbrush in water and continuing to paint. Cut to her speaking from the couch.

[SPEECH]
My children bring me the most joy now. My kids are truly the best and I am so grateful to be here–here–for that.

[DESCRIPTION]
Jamie continues to paint robot illustrations. Cut to Jamie speaking from the couch.

[SPEECH]
Now that I'm in recovery and I have a clear picture of my future, and I’m excited.

[DESCRIPTION]
Jamie walks past camera into the sunshine in the park. The frame transitions from the park scene to an illustrated version of the same scene. Jamie closes her book.
